And finally, finally, players can complete Broken Isles Pathfinder, Part 2, and acquire the ability to fly in the Legion zones for all their characters. New mounts will also become available as RNG drops from faction reputation reward caches, including the much-desired Wild Dreamrunner that Blizzard has insisted is not a unicorn. Those of us who may have overindulged in the Legion Invasions back in August will get to play through the mechanic again, this time in Broken Shores leveling zones. There will also be class-specific world quests. There will be more class missions with better rewards, a higher ilvl required of followers, and even a new follower available for each class. Players eager to get their hands on the new epic class mounts will need to continue their class hall campaign. In their official livestream last week, Blizzard acknowledged that there will eventually be a catch-up mechanism as well to help players turning up late to be able to contribute. Players will have to build up to it in a somewhat literal sense as they work together to open up new content through a mechanism that brings to mind the glory days of vanilla when whole servers worked toward opening the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj. Just as a minor point of order, while the patch is named The Tomb of Sargeras, the raid will not be available immediately upon launch. The official 7.2 patch notes are now available, so let’s dig into the highlights. Here’s the 7.2 trailer cinematic, which sent chills up the spines of many a player as they began preparations to tackle the Cathedral of Eternal Night and reclaim the Broken Shores from the Burning Legion. The Broken Shore is our destination, and one hopes that the writing, cinematics, and audio teams don’t rip our hearts out (again) as we finally return to the place where both King Varian Wrynn was murdered by Gul’dan and Warchief Vol’jin received his mortal wounds. Oh, and there’s also a bucketful of other things coming with this major milestone patch coming as well. At long last, World of Warcraft is poised to unleash flying on the Broken Isles with patch 7.2: The Tomb of Sargeras.
